A friend of mine showed me one of his mausers this mornig and we cannot figure out where it is from. The numbers matched, the bolt was turned down, and it was carbine length. The only mark on the gun was the crest on the receiver. It was a sword pointing down at an angle crossing over maybe a roman torch? The stock was dark like walnut with the handguard that goes around the rear sight, kind of looks like a vz24 hand guard. Any clues as to what it is? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks fellow high roaders.:)

The description fits a Spanish Mauser (the logo is of a sword overlaying a "fasces", a bundle of sticks and an axe that was used as a symbol of political authority in Rome, and from which we get the term "fascist"), but we'd need more info to know which specific version. This mark was used to show that the rifle was issued to the Spanish "Civil Guard", sort of a paramilitary police force.

Fascis and sword, as said. Spanish Civil Guard 1916 short rifle, either in 7mm or 7.62x51. Nice little carbines.
