My son-in-law gave me a Maxam folding lockblade with pocket clip. It looks sturdy, but is difficult to operate with one hand. Also, it has an ambiguous statement on the blade, that seems to indicate it was made in China, but has headquarters in the US.

Knives are not my forte.

Has anybody rated this knife or have info on it ?

Made in China, but that's not always a condemnation any longer.

Unfortunately Maxam isn't one of the better regarded Chinese made knives.

In this caseit might be best to regard this as a "thought that counts" gift and just see how it holds up without expecting too much from it.

See how it holds up. I was given one and found the other, both with similar marking.

One was terrible, and the other marked 440C is quite seviceable.

Time will tell.
