So after an unfortunate accident I'm done with liner lock folding knives. Some folding knives are okay but I'm thinking maybe I'm just going to move to a fixed blade. Calendar they seem pretty inconvenient to carry concealed everyday compared to a folding knife. Does anybody carry a fixed blade everyday?

Ive been putting this on my belt for the last year. Small enough not to be a burden, and a very useful blade shape. I have processed several whole beeves with it in combination with a larger skinner for seperating bones and be-heading. Wish I could find a copy made by a quality manufacturer. For seven bucks you should give it a try!

Not every day, but on rare occasions. I still like a folder, and while I've never had a bad experience with a liner lock I can understand how it is easier to have an accident with one. Not a fan of frame locks either. They are strong, I just don't like them. I prefer the Axis lock used by Benchmade. And on a less expensive knife a lock back like those used on many Spyderco's is a good choice.

I sometimes carry a small fixed-blade neck knife in a kydex sheath while hiking for easy access.
My folders are a mixed bag of integral lock, liner lock, axis lock, and others…all without issue.
For most of my day-to-day/EDC situations I rely upon a folder the vast majority of the time.

I carried a Fallkniven F1, S1, or H1 pretty consistently EDC for years. The Benchmade Griptilian finally converted me to carrying a folder regularly instead.

The F1 with kydex was pretty low profile though. It just competed for belt space with other things.

I'm not a fan of traditionally implemented liner or frame lock types with the split handles to secure the blade, so I would be in your camp in avoiding them. I've had issues with them not completely locking the blade on a quick open, I always second guessed and made sure the liner/frame was completely securing the blade, so no more of them for me.

I'm in the process of looking at the different lock types on knives and think that I will be saving up for a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 with their "compression lock" which utilizes a "liner" but in a fashion that looks very positive and secure.

Not everyday but often. Usually a heimo roselli forged carpenters knife in a leather sheath I made (heavier duty than the original roselli sheath).
Nobody gives me any sideways looks when I walk into the post office or bank etc. not at all threatening.
Also, Not all liner locks are equal. Some locking mechanisms are very safe.

I carry a buck 192 for periods of days to weeks. It isn't totally concealed. It don't get in the way any more than my gun or my rump. I always have felt the burden of carrying a knife or gun was worth the comfort of having with me.

I'm thinking of making an IWB bootknife style sheath for the buck. So I can carry it concealed.

Yes, I rotate through many with blades around 4". I prefer scout carry. IMHO an ESEE 3p in S35VN would be my baseline. I replaced the supplied clip with a Teklock:

I dont carry folders for about 7 years now.

I don't bother with trying to conceal it but I've been carrying a fixed blade everyday for about 5 or 6 years now and don't see myself switching back. Current knife is this one, it clips to the outside of my pocket. It doesn't look so clean anymore.

I know I'm legal by state law but probably not for every city I've ever been in. I wondered about getting hassled over it at first but folks don't really pay any attention to it. Honestly the few people who have asked about it, asked because they liked it. I train horses and do farm repairs though, I'm sure if I was in an office environment or something like that I may not get away with it as well.

Sure , I carry these 4” blade Fixed Fallkniven knives. They can slip into front pocket (Check your laws for concealed Knife carry) and are easily to carry all day. Usually a Surefire defender in other pocket 50E1D5AC-5158-4D87-83C8-CEEEA866C34C.jpeg

I carry a small Fixed blade and a Folder… a Swiss army. If I could only carry one- It would be a Small folding Sak.

I occasionally carry a Spyderco Street Beat. As with other Spyderco knives, well made, sharp, excellent holster.

This Russel Easler is carried depending on attire though I primarily carry a folder:

This is one of mine that I've adapted for belt carry at 6-3/4" OAL:
