Mbus Front Sight mounted on the gas block?

Just got my first AR with A3 flat top, I picked up a set of Magpul Mbus front and rear sights. While installing the front sight there is a warning not to mount on the front gas block.

Will the gas black get that hot to melt them? Or is there something else that I am missing.

exactly, plastic and gas blocks dont go well together.

YES, just go and put a mag through it at a brisk pace a bump your thumb against the gas block and you will under stand the warning. Other than that have fun, AR's are a hoot!
