I have a Remington 700 BDL that has seen better days as far as the stock is concerned. I'd like to put a synthetic stock on it but am not sure which one to use. I've read a lot about the McMillan's, HS Precision's, and Bell and Carlson's. I once owned a 700pss and had nothing against the HS Precision used on it.

Is there anyone here that can give me the rundown on these from personal experience? Again, I'd be putting this on a 700 BDL short action.

BTW, I also am considering a 700 Mountain Rifle in .30-06. What would be a good synthetic stock for this one? I'm not partial to the Laminated stock on the 700 Mountain LSS.

Thanks in advance guys.

I like Hogue and Bell&Carlson:

No complaints about H.S. Precision. I liked the one on my 700 VSSF so much that I bought another for my Model Seven. Very good stocks. I looked at the McMillans and decided the H.S. Precision was a better "bang for the buck."
