Like the title says. I'm looking for a place (probably southern PA) to go to get 30 round AR mags. I've tried having them shipped to an out of state address, but most places I've looked online won't sell them if you have a MD billing address.

Freedom Aromory right over the line in Glen Rock PA might have them. They are only a few miles inside the PA line up I 83.

If you want to drive all the way up to lovely York, PA and can tour Harley Davidson and then go to Stubby Gear. They just opened a store off of US-30 just west of York. They advertise guns and ammo. Plus they have an AK on their sign.

FYI. Earlier this month someone on ar15.com looked at Freedom for >20 round mags, they were out. So I'd call before going.

The Harrisburg Gun show is a good idea, but they run hot or cold. YMMV

Marylanders can not sell or purchase 30 round magazines in State,
they can possess them though.

I've also had good luck in the lower PA area, as well as VA.

Delaware, at least where I've been, has been a literal wasteland without a gunshop anywhere.

Loxety - yes, buying them in VA or PA or DE is completely legal. The law only prohibits the sale or purchase IN Maryland - and not owning or using.

MD law also bans manufacturing hi-cap mags over 20 rounds. But then, who in his right mind would make them in-state illegally when all it takes is a drive to any of the neighboring states?

Many of the Gander Mt. stores also carry the 20's and 30's. They have stores in York, Greensburg and Chambersburg.

Why do Maryland (and California, and New Jersey, and Massachusetts) residents put up with the insane infringements imposed by their states?

Isn't there anybody lobbying the legislature to get these worthless laws off of the books?

Thanks for the replies. Cheeseybacon (that screen name makes me laugh btw), I just might make the trip to Greencastle.

BTW, for the guys that have ARs, about how many mags is a good number to have? Is there any reason to get a couple 20 round mags too?

edit: systema, there are a good number of people fighting the good fight in this state. The problem is we're almost constantly on the defensive. And despite the efforts of guys like Spot77, Norton, and Helmetcase (progunprogressive), the AWB introduced this year seems to have a decent chance of becoming law. I'm trying to get a few things that will probably be banned while I can/before the gouging starts.

as a fellow AR-15 enthusiast I spent some time researching this very topic a few months ago. In maryland it is illegal to buy or sell a magazine over 20 rounds, it is perfectly legal to own them, and if they are purchased out of state MD laws do not apply. Gander mountain in York, Pa always has a few in stock, and PA/VA gun shows are a great place to stock up on hicaps if you have a few guns that take them, other than that Most 20 rd hicaps that I have found cost at least $10 more than the standard 30rd mags, probably due to the fact most states (other than MD) either limit them to 10rds or dont have a limit at all, so 20 rd mags are usually maryland specific the bag for my 20 rd mini-14 mags say "MD 20rd compliant"

PAC, that place is only a little more than an hour from me. what's their price on mil-spec AR mags? Would that be a good place to shop for uppers/other AR parts?

nico- They have "reasonable gunstore" prices. Nothing to go out of your way for, but not rediculous. Seeing that mags are about $10.00-$15.00 online, I'd guess x-ring sells them for $15-25.

I was in there 2 days ago. I saw 1 stripper lower (dpms-$140), 1 complete lower (unknown make $250 I think), and no uppers that I saw. They probably had 20 or so complete AR's. 20 or so AK's (They are an Arsenal inc dealer). A few of the bigger stuff like FAL's, HK91, etc. They usually have at least 1 .50bmg rifle. They had a RPD a little while ago, too. Good selection of 1911's, too. No where near a mecca, but decent selection for the area.

They are nice guys. Small shop, but lots of evil black stuff packed in... compared to most of the hunter oriented shops that I know of. Give them a call and ask away.

PAC, my problem is that I've been all over Southern Delaware on my way to and from Ocean City. Not a gun shop in sight. I'll have to venture northward next time!

I need some Galil mags.

It kills me looking at Shotgun News and thinking how I could have them delivered right to my door if it were not for the stupid laws we've got here.

I used to shoot at a friend's farm in Laurel, DE. I remember a fairly large hunting/fishing/gun place. I remember buying dragon's breath SG shells, there, so they had some cool stuff, but I don't recall many EBR's. I totally forget the name, but it had something to do with guns.
