I like to take pictures. I visit photography forums, and like this forum, there is always a debate about what sensor works the best, and who makes the finest lens.
There are folks who actually take pictures of brick walls and newspaper text to measure straightness and sharpness, and all the other parameters of a lens.
They seem to obtain personal satisfaction from having (and proving) what they think to be the best thing on the market. They don't actually take pictures of anything other than newspapers and such -- but they have sharp lenses.
I call these folks "measurebators." The same folks haunt these boards, and every now and then, when I see their posts, I wanna roll my eyes and groan.
My point? Get a life, maybe get a girlfriend. Then go have fun and punch some holes in a few targets.
You might find you'll be happier if you leave your calipers at home.
You know the ones I'm talking about. They're digital readout, lithiium hydroxide powered, mil-spec, ASTM certified and laser accuracy calibrated to the ninth decimal place, red dyed and magna fluxed, and everybody knows they'll demonstrate that my custom Glocketta M&P92 will fire all 21 bullets through the same hole at 600 yards. If you don't have one, your just a big dummy, cause it makes me a better person and will even cure bad breath..
Okay - rant over.
