Posted this on TFL too.

I did this myself. What do you think?

I second that, why? I'm not ridiculing you, I am just curious as the advantage, just aesthetics?

I like it. I REALLY wish the G19/23/32 had the slides like the G26/27/33, instead of the squared off slide.

Looks much better. I"m a sexy man so I could never carry a Glock, way too boxy. But a nicely shaped one might do the trick.

If you wanted a PX4, I would have just went out and bought one...

If you like it... you like it... I just wonder if there could be any long term problem with stress on the slide. But, you can always buy a new slide if you had to.

The "melt" job really has no other function than looks. I was tired of the square look so I changed it up a bit.

The finish is black oxide.

I'll post up what I did to my G27 tomorrow.

And to answer the question "Why?"

Because I can do it. More important, I'm not affraid to try it. And this is the outcome - a finished product that I'm proud of.

My opinion is that it looks a lot better this way than a stock Glock. It's my personal customization.

Doesn't really look like a PX4 to me, but I get what you mean.

Structural integrity was not compromised. I took a bit off the thick corners on top. The main stress point for glocks' "upper" are the front of the slide that hold the recoil spring in place.

call me crazy, but I like the BLOCK look, at least on a Glock. Looks more like a Walther PPK now though...no way you could do that to the rear I suppose?

Not a fan of glocks but it does look good. I'm actually impressed at how sleek it looks now. How/what did you use? I wonder it it will work on other pistols

The only down side to this i can see is that you have worn through the tennifer finish on the parts of the slide you "melted" The finish is one of the best attributes of the glock, in my opinion, and now it is gone.

But if you like it, that is what matters!

send the slide to glock and let them finish it. It would really look sharp then, but don't be surprised if Gen 5 glocks has a melted nose:D

I think the G22 looks pretty good.

I've often wondered why the subcompact Glocks get a beveled slide, but not the compact and full size models.

Good work.

Good for you. It's your gun so fix it the way you like it. Looks fine to me but I have never owned a Glock.

I'm wondering if the lightened slide would require a stiffer recoil spring. biker
