I ordered a Max-9 from them. Pistol was $299.99. Ruger range bag was $29.99. Range bag/pistol combo was 279.99. So I got it. Already picked up & cleaned the pistol. I gotta get out to shoot it. I have been reading good things about the Tisas.

The Tisas 1911's sure do get a lot of good reviews for a budget pistol made in Turkey. Let us know how you like yours once you get a chance to shoot it.

I picked up a “blem” PSA RK1 (Rock with slide cuts) in FDE for $399. I can’t find any blemish on it whatsoever.

Yeah, I kind of wonder if they label items as blems to boost sales without revealing that they are making a decent profit, regardless of cost. For instance, if you have a gun listed for $1000, you might get people to buy it and maybe you make a $500 profit per unit sold. However, if you take the same product and list it as a blem and sell it for $800 ($300 profit per unit), you will likely entice more customers who feel that $1000 was too much, but who think that $800 is reasonable. At the same time, you can continue selling the non-blem for the $1000.
So basically, you can disguise one product as two and potentially reach two customer segments without making one feel that they overpaid and by making the blem buyers feel that they got a good bargain.
I’m not saying this is what PSA does nor am I suggesting that this approach is/is not a good and/or an ethical idea.
I have also heard that some manufacturers/retailers will list items as blems so that they can sell below MAP and/or not upset their dealers (if a manufacturer) or the manufacturer (if a dealer).
Again, I am not sure of the validity of any of this. Perhaps all blems from all companies are truly blems in some way. However, it seems that most people who buy blems (regardless of product/manufacturer/seller) have difficulty determining what was allegedly blemished.
