It's a good introduction to the topic, and should help folks understand the reason for difference between the Finnish and Soviet rifles and rifle traditions. The two styles of Mosin were a product of two different approaches to combat. The Soviets relying on mass charges with fixed bayonets backed by superior heavy weapons and the Finns trying to make up for lack of manpower by focusing on marksmanship and accuracy.
