I just purchased a Meopta. Today while I was at the range after firing my first shot out of my Rem 700 .223 I became concerned...the bullet hit the target 4 inches high. This after shooting it last weekend and it not grouping well at all. So I reached for the sight adjustment on the Bushnell and it literally came off the scope in my hand. Stunned I just put the rifle up and continued firing my other rifles. So this evening I went to Cabella's and saw the Meopta on a discontinued table. I asked about it and was told it was a very good scope. It is a Meostar R1 3-12X56. The regular price was listed as $789.99 and had it marked down to $474.88. I looked through it and was impressed with its clarity which lead to the purchase. It is a little much for my .223 but I can move another scope or two around and get it on a gun it will work on.
Now two questions...was is a good buy?
How does it compare to Leupold? Zeiss Conquest? Swarovski American and any other scopes in this range?
Thanks,
