Well I finally got my MEUSOC Replica back and it turned out better than I could have expected! I have a couple poorly done pics (camera is not so great) but here is the lowdown. I built it based on Pat Roger's article, Dave Berryhill's version and what I gleaned from the internet.

It started off as a base GI Norinco 1911.
Marianne Carniak of Troy, MI did the work.
This was the work done:
1) Bevelled mag well
2) Clean up sharp edges on frame.
3) Installed grip safety (Clark is what Dave Berryhill said they had used, Pat Rogers said King, I liked the Clark better)
4) Custom serrated flat mainspring housing w/loop (Marianne cut the serrations into an original colt flat smooth GI w/loop, all I could ever find were checkered ones or smooth for purchase. Supposedly the Marines used flat serrated ones)
5) Polish feed ramp and throat barrel
6) Install new sights (rear is a Yost-Bonitz retro, front is a Millet serrated)
7) Trigger job (installed a Videcki style trigger)
8) Installed control group (new Cylinder and Slide sear and disconnector, Ed Brown Hammer strut)
9) Lower and flare ejection port
10) New Pachymayr grips
11) All new Springs by Wolf

Still need to have it reparkerized and a King's ambi safety installed. I never did find out if the Marines replaced the slide stop so the original will stay until I find out otherwise. Barrel may get changed out depending how the original lasts.

Nice. I like the MEU(SOC) guns but i like the ICQB Pistol better and thats what i'm trying to do to my springfield. As far as i have read the Marines keep the standard slide stop.
