That's been ruled a collective right and reserved for the militia, state approved at that. I disagree, but I don't make laws or rulings on such matters.

When the 2nd Amendment was written, the individual was the militia! Therefore, all individuals that are US Citizens (those in prison who have given up their rights notwithstanding) have the right to bear arms.

Rmurfster, do I take it then that you condone a person selling firearms to someone he knows is a criminal? To someone he knows will use the firearm for a criminal purpose?

No, I would not sell a gun to someone I knew to be a criminal. Criminals have given up their rights. They should be in prison where they belong.

But there's a difference between me as a US Citizen using my common sense and the government taking away our 2nd Amendment rights under the pretense of Crime Prevention. If current laws would be enforced, we wouldn't wouldn't need background checks...

I call BS.

My wife is from Mexico (legally), and I've been there at least 10 times over the years.

Mexican Army soldiers carry full auto M-16s (and, I presume, M-4s). Mexico pays its soldiers the way it pays its police - i.e. virtually nothing. These guys have to find a way to make more money, and the answer is corruption of one kind or another. Given how the Mexican Army seems to be in bed with the various drug lords down there, I would be utterly shocked if the drug lords didn't obtain their weaponry from the Mexican Army, either for cash or in return for not killing some supply sergeant's family.

Oh, and if the Mexican government wants to dictate policy here in Texas (let alone in the rest of the country), I hereby invite them to come and try. They won't do nearly so well as Santa Anna's army did - and that one got shot up pretty well at the Alamo and San Jacinto. C'mon, pendejos, we're up for a rematch!

Why don't you just post a video link to Speed Racer and ask us to count the grunts and Uhh's.
:D :D That 'bout sums up my thoughts on mexico as well.

they should be demanding better education, tougher border controls and an improved way of life for their citizens.:D :D
