The more news I get out of Michigan, the more it appears to be sliding downhill into California or Illinois (or at least some people are trying very hard to make it so).Why do Michiganders keep electing these SAME horrible people over and over..
Good question. Some of us union people can't be held responsible for the crap that goes on in MI. The unions some here are referring to are union lackeys. I've been trying to get rid of Levin since he's been in office. Same with Stabenow. People of Michigan appear lazy. They get comfortable with names they've seen before on a ballot, rather than taking the time to read the candidate's platforms. The only important thing Michigan did right in this election was to eliminate affirmative action.

I don't doubt it's a canned response to my letter written by some brown-nosed 18 year old intern. Sometimes I feel like writing these flakes is futile, but I'm still gonna keep doing it. Actually, I don't know which letter of mine he was responding to. I imagine it was my letter asking him not to support any further AWBs. But I also wrote in support of national parks carry, among other things. It's a pretty generic response letter. His statistics are full of garbage. I have no dout that those numbers are misleading representations of the facts, like how many initial denials there were, erroneous or otherwise. Levin and Stabenow are in bed with the Brady Bunch & folks like Feinstein, Clinton, Conyers, etc.

That's true. Pretty much every incumbent won in our state, despite our awful economy, loss of jobs, people leaving the state, auto companies floundering, etc. I just can't fathom why people would want the same people in office again. The last few years have been downhill with the exception of the passage of the Castle Doctrine laws, Mike Cox making it so we don't need to get a purchase permit to buy a handgun if we have a CPL, and the banning of use of race, sex, etc. in affirmative action politices.

Ya, we're trolls to da yoopers. Didn't know that, eh? :neener: Actually, I love the UP. Just can't convince my wife to move there. Plus, like you said, you're still subject to the same loonies who run things in the LP. It's a shame.

For the record, Detroiters are also citizens of Michigan.

True, but Wayne county tends to continue re-electing people like John Conyers & Kwame Kilpatrick. I mean, how much more scandal could Kilpatrick have had during his last term, and yet he mysteriously won in the morning after he was way behind all night. You have to wonder what a lot of Detroiters are thinking when they vote (or don't vote).

No Politician is Perfect

Even so, they could at least try to hide the fact that they are anti-Constitution. In Michigan we are surrounded by cases of federalism and numerous other forms of repression. So long as the sheeple vote for these ant-America-rights politicians, the abuses of power will persist.

Even Stabenow's opponent refused to sign people's applications to purchase a noise reducer "silencer", stating that he was running for office and wasn't going to have liberals asking during a debate where he stands with regard to "silencers". Politically correctness could not possibly be more incorrect.

Nahhh! I grew up there. It might have been part of Michigan once, but now it's a small 3rd World country North of Canada and South of the USA.
