My Google-Fu is weak tonight. I've been told, and I'm fairly certain I've read somewhere that impact tools like kubatons, collapsible batons, etc. are illegal to carry for self defense in Michigan, but I can't find the actual statute.
As I was searching for it, I came across a couple old forum posts (not on THR) of kubaton classes being held as recently as 2012 through a certified trainer.
I like the idea of a collapsible baton for a number of reasons, a self defense tool only being one of them.
Can someone clarify, by way of statute in Michigan law, if these are in fact illegal?
I do have some baton training, and was looking at either this one or this one.
Thanks
