i agree with ya, standing wolf. i took one of my handguns to get "safety inspected" and one of the clerks asked "are you here to register your handgun?" i told her "we don't register handguns in michigan" and she looked totaly peaved, like i didn't know what i was talking about. it's vertually the same thing, but i had to set her straight anyways.

meanwhile, wish us luck on getting this new bill passed. Yessssssss!!!!

Whats the Gov got to say on this. I get the feeling that she is not crazy about the CCW law in the first place.

She actively worked against it while she was AG, now she at least seems to have found religion. She hasn't vetoed a piece of pro-gun legislation yet. Amazing, but true.

Part of the issue in Michigan is that lots of stuff has been/is getting introduced, but nothing is getting done. This may have a chance because its the cause de jour, but SoS is also sitting out there, along with 8 or 10 other pro-gun bills.

All these politicians want to be able to go to their local constituents and say they've introduced this or that, but the fact is, things get introduced, go to committee and then get put on the back burner.

It's about time we kick it up a notch and put them on notice that introducing legislation isn't enough, we have to get them passed in order to get gun owner support.
