So, while this is a step in the right direction, I have to ask what guns and ammo are manufactured in Michigan?

All I've found so far is MAC, who manufactures the Razorback brand of pistol ammo.

I have to ask what guns and ammo are manufactured in Michigan?

I found two more ammunition manufacturers with a quick Google:

Sporting Ammo, Palms MI

Great lakes Ammunition, Wixom, MI

These sorts of bills are the "medical marijuana laws" of firearms. The Feds will still enforce federal law regardless of what a state law says.

Naturally. But FLEAs typically don't make an appearance in an investigation unless notified. They get notified by Local LEOs. Kinda makes it hard for the Feds to enforce something if they don't know anything about it.

In any event, I'm going to start ordering my ammo from local Michigan companies when I can.

I think the purpose of the law - besides the obvious - is to attract gun manufacturers who are not yet in Michigan. Im sure that most if not all manufacturers, distributors and whoever that are located in states like New York are now getting attractive offers if they will relocate.

Fuff, that actually makes a lot of sense.

I truly hope some gun manufacturers come to Michigan. We could certainly use the jobs. Heck, I might even apply, depending on the fringe benefits.

Nope. Among other things, where did the parts come from?

In any case, this general subject is being discussed here in connection with a similar law proposed in Wyoming. The issues are fundamentally the same, and there's no reason to have multiple threads on the same topic.
