I'd like to know what happened to the steel frame 1858 Buffalo's that Pietta made. Those have been on my list for years, Covid is over, what's with the continued shortages for cap n ball revolvers?

I can see why the prices are dropping, there are no caps to be had to shoot them!

They have caps in my semi local shop, $10 for #10 and $11 for #11. I seen a whole rack of cci #10 at another shop, bought them all for $6 each

were C&B prices cheaper before covid?

Much Cheaper! Between the shutdown of Italian Armories and the Covid Relief checks from the government, supply shut down and demand skyrocketed. Used guns started going for twice what they had been selling for. Used guns seem to be coming back in line now that the new guns are once again available and most folks have blown through their windfalls! Sadly for retail, once it goes up, it takes a depression before it starts back down.

I heard C&B was once $500 for the top of the line. now we are looking at $1,000

What's considered "top of the line" for cap and ball? The ones advertised as target revolvers with a progressive twist?

That is bonkers I couldn't justify that price when I could get one in great shape if not new for $300 to $400 and most likely shoot as good.
I been telling people, my buds who are Plastic Wonder Guns, and Tactical Ninjas all have expressed interest in C&B and Cowboy guns. Even the Cool youtubers are showing interest in Black Powder!!! Good thing Estes will be cranking out Black Powder soon.

So all you old timers with more knowledge that a museum, write down what you know. Because someones gotta teach us! I personally LOVE the look of Old guns from the 1700’s to 1900’s! and the 1911!!!

Right we need more duelist den, Hickok 45 and hawgs to share the wealth of knowledge!!!

60.00 is about what I paid for my steel frame Rigarmi Remington, a pound of powder, a tin of caps and a bullet mold in 1969. I paid less than 200 for my P 53 Enfield in 1980. 175.00 IIRC.

I didn't know birthday prices was a thing at Midway. The 1858 carbine is Screaming my name right now. With bday prices it $448 I'm thinking hard about it
How does one go about getting this birthday pricing at Midway? Mine is coming up.

If you go to their page and become a Member or whatever they call it. Then they send a code for a birthday discount.
