I just got a n e-mail from Midway and they will now ship ammo to Illinois residents. First you have to fax or mail or e-mail a copy of your FOID card. I have seen some good deals on ammo that I couldn't get because they wouldn't ship to Illinois. Jim.

Glad to hear it. I've always had good experiences with Midway USA but I live in Colorado. It's good to know Midway is working to help out citizens in states like Illinois.

That's nice. I have had a good relationship with Midway, and today I discovered that I get a birthday discount on my next order. Good guys/gals

Me too happy Birthday, Libra. A nice 10% off. I already have an order of over $500 with the discount.

unfortuneately the actual Il law states the card must be presented in person with each purchase............my c&r lisc was pretty much useless when i lived in IL

I seem to recall MidwayUSA doing similar for a family member in MA, with their FID card.

(Text of Section from P.A. 94‑571)

(b‑5) Any resident may purchase ammunition from a person outside of Illinois. Any resident purchasing ammunition outside the State of Illinois must provide the seller with a copy of his or her valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card and either his or her Illinois driver's license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to the shipment of the ammunition. The ammunition may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.

Most companies I order from...including AIM, SOG, Sportsman's Guide, etc., accept a copy of your FOID and DL as proof

Huh? How so? Something must be wrong with my C&R because I've bought over 30 mil-surps with it while I've lived in IL.

used to be this was the interpretation the ISP used to harass out of state ammo dealers. Was sort of like their bizarre claim at one time that a loaded magazine = a loaded gun. The law did not actually state that, but that was what the ISP claimed anyway. In 2004, our buddy Rod actually signed a law making it clear, as another poster pointed out.

I have purchased both handguns and long guns on ny C&R and I live in Illinois.

The next day they sent an e-mail saying my FOID had been accepted. I don't know what's going on. I do know that Midway now has my FOID card in my account info.

I purchased a C&R rifle from Aim Surplus earlier this month.
