A buddy recently offered his Glock 27 to me in trade, and left it with me to try out for a few days.
I don't normally like Glocks for their grip angle, but find the shortened grip of the G 27 to not be nearly as bad.
I was sitting there debating on whether or not to make him an offer, and still was not wild about the grip. I decided to go test it out shooting, as that is the real test.
I shot it great!! Can't argue with real results, and I was getting good results. I hit what I was aiming at %95 of the time and this was my first time trying a "Baby Glock". I also found the recoil the be alot less than anticipated for a small 40. cal.
I had a G17 of my fathers for a few years and did not miss it when he wanted it back. I am guessing that the full grip was more uncomfortable for me, and therefor was not natural feeling to shoot.

I now find myself excited to add this to the CC rotation. Even though I love Kahrs for carry normally, I find this easy to carry and also like having 10 rounds if firepower in a tiny package!

One question I have for the Glock experts is..... If I get a larger mag that sticks out the bottom, is there extentions I can add to the mag to make it a full grip like there is on the new SR9c??
Thanks for your input!

I only want a larger capacity mag for a backup, but thanks for the input. When carrying the G27 I will be using the 10 rounders with a peirce pinky extention.:D

I know exactly what you're talking about. I used to have a G19, and the grip used to push into the meaty part of my hand and force the barrel up:

The G26, because of the shorter grip, doesn't do the same thing, so it points more naturally for me:

I think the mag collars are made by A&G and similar to this:

For what it's worth -- when I use my G19 mag in my G26 (I use the A&G extender), the collar doesn't dig into my hand the same way the regular G19 grip does -- so it still points very naturally for me.

Finally, check out the GAP floorplates:

I find it works better for me than the Pearce or Scherer pinky extenders.

Good luck and have fun!

I don't have large hands; however, I found the grips on the Glock 26 and 27 just too short so I switched to a Glock 19. With a forward-canted D.M. Bullard holster the longer barreled G19 isn't visible below a waist-level jacket or windbreaker. But to each his own.

There is (can't remeber the brand). I tried it at my LGS and didn't like it. Ended up getting a G19. Its my EDC now.

My Glock 27 is wearing one of the A&G mag adapters right now.

Well I did it, I joined the darkside! I bought the Glock 27 and some FMJ and Fedral Hydrashock ammo for $400. It came with the case and two 9 round mags, one mag has the Peirce pinky extention on it. I think I am going to like this pistol.
One question, are the G27 and G26 the same size?
Thanks for all the feedback!

Yes the 26 and 27 are teh same size.

You can use glock 22 and 23 mags with it. There are some sleeves that fit over the 23 mags that will give your 27 a 23 grip when you use them. I forget who makes them but I got a 3-pack of them from cheaper than dirt for under 15 dollars.

oh yeah....welcome to the dark side. :)

Identical size and pretty much identical weight. All the pertinent specs are on the Glock website, BTW.

Nice gun. I have the grip extender, but I hardly ever use it. I wouldn't put it on a backup mag, because it will make it harder to conceal. Besides, why carry a 13 round backup mag, when you can carry a 15 rounder?

Congrats. If you get a holster that holds the gun low on your waistline, you can conceal it under a t-shirt easily.

I found the grip extension very glunky and uncomfortable using it on G21 mags in my G30.
I ended up taking it off and using the bigger mag as is.
