I don't know if this is totaly a high road topic, but I'll relate it to guns! Does anyone collect the military gear that goes along with there millsurp weapons? Or better yet military vehicals like trucks, planes or tanks?

I know someone with a P51, its pretty freaken cool. So far my collection is limited to some knives, and minor tools. Although I would like to get a tank one day when I have the room.

Some of these guys in Switzerland have cool toys.:D

I can't say I collect anything, but I still have a sizable stash of TA-50 and other assorted gear.

I'm thinking about getting a couple Garand bayonets though.

Goggle The Company of Military Historians. That organization is composed of collectors, curators, museum directors, professors, writers, researchers. Somebody in that group will know everything about one highly specialized aspect of the material culture.

BTW, as a High Private in the Company, I can attest to the interesting displays at their conferences. This year, we had a collection of swivel guns (muzzle loading cannons) on display, identity disks (dog tags), Virginia Manufactory guns and swords, helmets (cavalry), patches and other things. Everyone there is an expert in something. Next conference will be in Pennsylvania. Consider attending (and joining).

As a long time model builder......I've amassed a HUGE collection of military aircraft models. (WW2 to pressent) I also build aircraft carriers.

My "gun-room" & Model-room" are one and the same! Two great hobbies I've enjoyed for years.

I like collecting oddball bits of military gear, mostly gun related, but really anything that has a story behind it, or is a good conversation piece catches my attention.

I was collecting oddball military camo, had Turkish and a few others, but moves made me downsize quite a bit, only have a nice set of Dutch camo, similar to Brit pattern. I use it for backgrounds sometimes.
STILL looking for Rhodesian, for use - love that pattern!

Armoredman reminded me that I have some foreign berets, and a few pieces of foreign kit.

I have a Brit coat that is quite warm - called a Bergie IIRC.

i buy some stuff. m16 cleaning kit,m 14 cleaning kit,mag pouches, mags & small stuff like that. don't know if this counts, but i do drive a 06 jeep which is loosely based on the military version. also have a surplus police holster & will buy a surplus holster for my cz 82.

Couple of years ago, I had to clean up 3 or 4 acres of beaver damage on my farm. I had a regular dump truck but kept getting it stuck in the mud and having to pull it out with my tractor wasting precious time. I found and bought an M51A2 military dump and never did stick it. Still have it.
Recently, a friend of mine who owns a junk yard came across an M38A1 1953 Jeep. Its in rough shape, but everythings there. I swapped the old dump truck that kept getting stuck for the jeep and an International Scout with PTO winch. If I ever get some spare time... :)
Oh, forgot, I use my M1 carbine with 30 round clips on the beavers. The largest one bagged (out of 56) weighed a smidgen over 100 pounds.

Folks,

Keep it directly related to firearms or firearms accessories please.

I collect milsurp firearms. I try to get the bayonets, slings and ammunition carriers to go with them. While there's always going to be better than milsurp accessories, it guns just seem "naked" without the issue slings or holsters or gear that was issued with them.

3 generations of military uniforms plus a sizable amount of "crap" that i have acquired. i ahve bayonets, helmets, patches, a little trench art. stuff like that
