Millett DMS 1-4 on 308 AR ??

This question is for owners of the Millett DMS Tactical 1-4 Scope. I have a DPMS AP-4 308 and I want your opinion if this scope would be appropriate on this weapon. I want a scope which will function as a close quarters sight and still be long range capable (not on deer) with the 7.62 round. How does the scope hold up, battery life, recticle use close/far. Any actual use info is apprciated.

I have that very scope on a POF CQB rifle and love it.

The Burris P.E.P.R. mount would be excellent mount for the DMS-1.
