Milt Sparks Holsters

I have a Kahr 40 and I'm looking for inside Waist band ( IWB) from Milt Sparks
I am looking at the Summer special, Summer special 2 or the Versa Max 2.
Does anyone have any hands on experence with any of these?

I have a VM-II for mid-size Glocks. It's an awsome holster, well worth both the wait and the price.

The VM2 is the best CCW holster I own. It's my everyday leather and I can wear a fullsized 1911 all day long and hardly notice it. Liked it so much I ordered a second one for my SIG. I have to ditto the VM2 suggestions. I have 2, one for my daily carry Para P14, and one for a 4" N frame. The more you use it, the more comfortable it becomes.

Well worth the money and wait to get one.

I've got a Versa-Max II for a P7-PSP and have been real happy with it.

Just ordered an HR-Ltd for a P239. I gather that the HR-Ltd is a VM2 with lining added. Sounded like just the ticket for the Texas summer.

The only drawback is the 12-14 week leadtime. Oh well, I guess "summer" really is the operative word here.

That, and the 15.00 "bump" over the VM2

been wearing Milt Sparks stuff since 1973. Bought a Gold Label holster and belt and mag pouch for a P-35 Browning.

Still wear Sparks stuff. Best craftsmanship I've ever worn and I carried at least one gun to work for 33 years. Retired now but still use the SSII as I prefer it.

I own several VMs and a SS. The VM is the best darned IWB holster out there, bar none. I guess I have to add, "IMO," but...) It is thinner than almost all other IWBs because the belt snaps are offset from the holster body. It's also incredibly secure but very fast. I'd pay the extra dollars and wait, if necessary, for the VM.

I agree with all the positive comments about the VM2. I have three of them, plus an earlier Summer Special, and they're my constant companions. Outstanding holster - the best in its class, IMHO.

The only thing better than the VM2 for the CCW holder that does not draw often, is the Watch Six. It's basically the same holster, but without the extra reinforcing band around the mouth to keep it open. It's significantly less money and thinner to boot.

Ditto re: the Watch Six. It is very thin and reholstering has not been a problem for me. I use it to carry an HKUSP45c.

I'm still using a Summer Special I bought a least 15 years ago and it is holding up just fine.
I don't use the holster every day because I don't carry the gun that holster fits every day but I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

For a Karh size gun my preference is the Summer Special II. For a full size heavy pistol I'd opt for a VM-2. After going through many lesser holsters I would have spent less money buying the Milt Sparks in the first place. Ditto Lightening Arms, great folks to do business with.

The VM2 is far and away the best holster I've ever used. Comfortable, stable, and conceals like a dream. I carried my full-size 1911 in one under a T-shirt. I've since gotten rid of both the 1911 and the holster, and am anxiously awaiting my new VM2 for my 3913.

Milt Sparks makes a mighty fine product. As a matter of fact, I was planning on buying one for my K40. I knew that there was quite a turn around time, so I decided to shop around for something that would be a short-term solution.

I was perusing the Kahr website a year or so ago, and noticed that they sell holsers on the Kahr website. I picked up a Don Hume IWB holster of of the website for about $30-40 (can't remember right off-hand).

In all honesty, the craftmanship is probably not as good as Milt Sparks, but this holster is more than sufficient. I don't own, nor have I ever worn an IWB holster that was as comfortable as this. I could have spent more money, but I wouldn't have gotten any more functionality.

I will not be buying a Milt Sparks for my Kahr. However, I do plan to purchase one in the not-so-distant future for a 1911. I assume that the Don Hume will last me forever. But if it doesn't, and lasts for only 10-15-20 years, I can buy 3-4 more for the price of 1 Milt Sparks.

You get what you pay for, and then sometimes, you get lucky!

I have the VM II for a 1911 - best holster I ever bought. I have a box full of 1911 holsters that didn't work - this one does.

I carry a full size 1911 in a VM2, and love it.

I've tried the SS2, but don't get the same comfortable fit as I do with the VM2. Most IWBs I've tried tend to dig the business end of the holster and gun into my butt cheek, almost like they are tipped "inward" at the bottom.
