Well, among other things, just a couple of weeks before 9/11, he issued a directive prohibiting the use of profiling to give closer scrutiny to those fitting a certain profile, in particular young Middle Eastern males traveling alone. And even after 9/11, his department continued on a crusade against profiling.

Maybe now Tommy Thompson will finally get his dream job. He wanted that post since W got elected in 2000. I do not know how well he would do but I doubt he could do worse.

Maybe Mineta's replacement will move the the training center for arming pilots to someplace closer to civilization to make it easier for them to go thru the program.
