Mini 14 optic question...

What optic are you running on your Mini 14? Also, where do you have it mounted? Are you using the supplied base or an after market mount to get the optic forward (scout mount)? I am looking for options for my Mini 14 tactical model. In the market for a red dot. I would like to see some pics if any one has some.

http://www.swfa.com For the cost and knowing its not a target rifle per se but I put on a BSA SWEET .223 AND SWFS has them on sale for 49.00 and am pleased with the glass of the 3X12X40 SWEET.223 And sure enough come's with different turrets for different grains your shooting to cal bullet drop its not a moa but it would be a body shot in self defense for quick references as one would be using open sight, but easier then once you find it to be just what the rifle will be used for....hope this helps it completed my mini and is durable enough for hunting and self defense should the issue arise....

I have a Nikon Buckmaster on my mini 30 with the Ruger supplied rings. Only problem is that when the brass ejects, it hits the windage knob. I'm in the process of solving that. Anyway, that's what I have.

It depends on your intended use of the rifle. I have a Leupold Vari-x II 1-4x20 on my ranch rifle in the Ruger supplied rings. It's a very nice match for my use, close range varminting, plinking, etc.
