I got a call tonight from a friend in N.C.,and he asked me if I knew anything about an accurizer for the Mini 14? Is there anything called a "HAR-R" ? I think he is looking for some type of harmonic balancer...Help!:banghead:
I've got an accu-strut on my 586 series mini 14, and it works very well, probably tightened my groups at least an inch. (2.5 inches to about 1-1.5 now). Very easy to install.
There are several brands out there of these now. The two I know of are the Accu-Strut, which was the original, and the Har-Bar. The Har-Bar, last time I checked, charges way more, doesn't look as nice, and does the same thing. So I'd go with the accu-strut.

Accu-strut, Har-Bar, Mod-Rod and True Shot Technologies are barrel stabilizers that mount to the gas block and consist of one or two barrel clamps depending on barrel length. You can also make your own for not much money. They work very well. You hear a lot of people talk about how bad the accuracy is of the Mini-14 and rightly so with some of the older models. But this mod will do wonders for the older pencil barrel minis. I have one of the new 581 series with the 16 inch barrel with a stabilizer and it will shoot the 62gr 855 ball ammo inside of 1 1/2 inches at 100 yards.
