I've been looking at the Ultimak Scout Rail and the Amega Ranges Scout Rail for my Mini-14 and was wondering if any of you have used them. Just to add a little controversy, which sight have you used on them? Aimpoint, EOTech, cheap knockoff thereof?

I can highly recommend the Amegaranges mount from Douglas Green.
We spend three days together at the last Snipers Paradise Snipers Challenge at TacPro Shooting Center.
I obtained one of these mounts based soley on the conversations and the mechanical design. Bought a Mini just to test the claims.
When shot from front/rear rest from a bench, the unaltered mini would do about
9 moa at 100 yards for 3 shots.....normal for the gun.
With the Amegaranges mount installed, the gun shot a consistant 1.25 moa for 5 rounds from the same rest with the same ammo.
Fired 10 each 5 round groups to test with and without the mount installed.
Really really despise mini's but this thing has me reconsidering my position on them.

Glad to hear that they stiffen that barrel up too, I was wondering if they would. I've got Millett sights on there, they're about a half inch higher than the standard sights, might they not clear the Amega Ranges? I just kind of like the light mounts on the Amega, and was leaning more that direction. Give me extra attachment points and I'll hang SOMETHING off there...get it all AR-d up, so to speak.

A mini is what you make of it and the mount you choose. My Eotech fits nicely on my mini

Can't afford an EOtech or an Aimpoint just now, all the M1A stuff (and reloading stuff) I've been buying lately have depleted my Mini-14 stuff funds, but I'm planning ahead!

All they need to shoot better is something to stiffen the barrel.
Of course you could go all the way and rebarrel and accurize from ASI. Thats what I did too.
