would i have to do it custom?

I think that is your only option. Out of curiosity, why not get an AR over a Mini? I think the consensus on Mini's is that they are rather expensive for what they are.

But then again, I am not in the business of telling people what firearms to buy. I have VERY limited experience with Mini's, but I know plenty of folks on here that are very loyal to them.

I want to say that back in the early to mid 80s, Federal Arms used to sell an underfolding stock for the Mini that was designed similar to the MP-40 and AKMS underfolding stock. Problem is that like the original design, lockup wasn't that tight and even if it was to begin with, it wouldn't be in short order and were considered to be really more of a gimick at best and downright junk at worst.

If you want to make your own stock, you can use the AK underfolder.

i dont think it would be hard it would just be easier if they were alreadys available

warren-
im gonna use it as a beater, it will ride shotgun with me at the barn where i work and since im 17 my dad is buying it and he wont buy an ar or an ak

There was a Mini underfolder/side-folder/something back in the 80s.

C'mon, every member of the A-Team had one. Except Hannibal, who usually went for an EBR or EBMG. May only fit the FA version, though.

The A-team (did they ever managed to actually shoot ANYBODY?!?!?):banghead: Mini-14 had the standard Ruger folding stock. Mine has a copy I think made by Eagle but they work the same, the arm folds off to the right and the buttplate folds up and locks the entire stock onto a stud on the side of the stock.

Federal Ordnance under-folder.

They were outlawed by the 94 CCA, and Federal went under, I think.

I certainly wouldn't consider it flimsy junk.
Mine has held up quite well for years now. It is at least mil-spec for a lot of countries folding stocks through the years.

The worst part is the sharp edge of the frame hitting your jawbone!

Too bad Federal Ordnance is gone now. I'd like to see where it would have lead with another 20 years of R&D work after mine was made!
