I looked close at some Mini 14's yesterday. I can't say as I was all that impressed with the fit and finish. Maybe the 30 is better for all I know. I just had never really looked at them up close until yesterday. Some had said their fit and finish were much better. Not from what I saw they aren't. Your mileage may vary.

I have a 'few' guns in different calibers,so no "need" to replace it.
I was thinking about a NYSAFE act compliant AK,but the only ones that have the "proper" stock as not quality[Saiga] .
I happen to like that round [ 7.62 X 39 ] and I have a CZ bolt carbine in the same caliber.
Since I live in the retarded P.C. state of NY,my choices are not that of really free states
