The DFL just doesn't learn. They will be trying to attach a STATE "assault weapons" ban to some crime bill in the Senate or House. See SF2948 or HF 2956. The bill is much worse than the expiring federal AWB (1994 Feinstein Amendment).

We've got to squash this now.

For those outside MN, MN law already requires that you have a background check and hold a "Permit to Purchase Pistol" card to purchase a so-called "Assault Weapon"...so this %#& is the essance of "Feel Good Legislation" that only hurts the law-abiding.

I saw a bit of this on the news last week. Same players, same "do it for the children/we must protect LEOs" logic. Keep in mind the same folks who sponsor this are the same folks who are trying to repeal the CCW legislation. Neither of which will go anywhere.
