I like Paul Harrel's videos, but he missed a pretty major factor in not mentioning the OpSol Mini Clip. It's only for the Mossberg 500/590, but it does make the Aguila shells feed as reliably as standard shells. It's a simple pop in/pop out accessory that pretty cheap to buy, yet effective.
I would use Italian NSI shells or something of similar minimum length. The Herters were slightly longer in loaded form because they used "disk closure". Using gadgets in shotgun to feed too short shells just makes it complex. This violates the KISS rule.
I agree. I was just pointing out that Paul missed mentioning the Opsol Clip. Personally, I think using any ammo as finicky as the Aguila mini shells for any purpose other than plinking would be foolish. For serious work, I would only choose something that functions flawlessly in my shotgun without the need for additional gadgetry or one-off techniques. I'd rather have a few less rounds in the tube of something I can depend on than 10 rounds of a malfunction waiting to happen.
