WE WON ONE!

Minnesota Public Radio's Online News Editor has removed the story they wrote about the VPC / Vulcan arms '...broadest range of assault weapons types that are skirting the law.' It won't be put back up, the editor says, because they have no rewrite staff.

That breaks the link the VPC had put to this story (and, I imagine, the Citizens Concerned (sic).... link that must have been up as well.)

This "win" is one that puts the facts of the AWB issues squarely into the MPR online audience--generally liberal, educated UMC whites--many of whom read but do not post much, if anything here.

(FWIW, the MPR forums are hardly moderated; I know of only one or two people who have been banned, ever. They generally let us sort it out for ourselves--and most of us do name-calling there on a daily basis.)

You can read the MPR FORUM thread here that lead to this if you want to:

ACers99 has a lot of credibility--he unofficially functions as a mouthpiece for the MNRTKBA organization; there are about three or four of us others who generally fight the antigunners there.

IMO, this is an important "win" in getting MPR to recognize the problems with this particular story. I think it will mean that we may have less problems with bias from that operation--at least on the AWB issue.

Calm, factual information can work, once in a while.

I'll bet MPR is all over the MMM pink motorhome tour when it hits Minneapolis June 7-10.

MPR will give the pink ladies hours of free airtime to spew their propaganda and then, after listeners object, come up with a hollow platatudes like they've done here. The damage is done but the pro-gun guys are "bought off" once again a weak apology. WE lose every round because MPR plays the falsehoods all day while apologizing in virtual secrecy.

The fools are us for accepting this repeated line of B.S. from MPR. They never learn, they never write a better story, all they do is throw out empty promises to do better. Well, in 30 years, I've never heard one of them actually "do better."

The listeners are the victim of that old saying: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice (or 20 times), shame on me."

I'm the guy on MPR.org that offered to bring out an honest-to-goodness evil assault rifle for them to try shooting: an AK clone.

I can only take so much of that forum though, there are quite a few trolls there.
