Ventured into a gunstore for some much anticipated shopping this morning with a buddy of mine. Helping clean out a guy going out of business due to retirement and all, since we're such nice guys. :)

I find out on arrival that he's not shopping, he's actually got a pistol on layaway. Nifty, so I ask him what it is. He says, "You'll see.. and you'll hate me."

Flash back, about 3-4 months ago. Same guy calls me up and tells me that there's a sweet deal on a Sig 245 at this shop. I mull it over a bit, so I call the guy a day or two later. Already put on hold for anothe guy he says. We chit-chat about what he's got and I decide to venture out there. Sure enough, I go out the next day and the guy that nabbed the 245 from under my nose is picking it up while I'm in there. He lets me fondle it, and yes, if he hadn't bought it I certainly would have I assure him. A good time was had by all. Came with a holster, night sites, Hogue grips, extra mags. Nice used package really.

So, the owner comes out with my buddy's gun that he put on lay away... and yes, you guessed it: The same Sig 245! Apparently the previous owner had some kind of streak of bad luck and got rid of all of his handguns, so it was back on the market in the same shop.

I pulled a page from Dick Cheney's handbook in life and promptly told him what he could go do with himself. :D

Odd... I've been in that shop twice in my life and I've seen the same gun walk out each time. This time, however, it rode on my buddy's waist band the whole way home. Even bought a box of ammo while we were there so he didn't have to carry an unloaded gun around on his belt, as it didn't come with a case.

Oh well, the Sig's got a good home again.
