I bought some Federal ammo a few weeks ago and when I got to the range some was missing. When I got home I look at the rest of the boxes and even more was missing. I emailed Federal to let them know something was going on. Here is my email to them late last night.

My email to them said:
Hello,
I bought 12 boxes of "Federal American Eagle 9mm Luger 115 grain Full Metal Jacket" bullets. They are 50 round boxes. I love how the ammo shoots out on my Glock 17 and I would like to continue using it. Here is the problem I have with the 12 boxes I bought.
1- box had all 50 rounds in it.
4- boxes were missing 1 round
5- boxes were missing 2 rounds
1- box was missing 3 rounds
1- box was missing 5 rounds
I bought 600 rounds of ammo and 22 of those rounds were missing. When looking at the box with the eagle flying left to right. I flipped open the right side tab, pulled they trays out. All of the empty spots were always to the left side of the tray. Besides liking how the ammo has shot out of my gun, I also like your ammo because you folks are a local company for me. Here is all the info I can find on the box, all of them have the same numbers.
AE9DP
LOTNOP
22X500
If there us anything else you need please let me know. You can email me or call me at (xxx)-xxx-xxxx. I will fold up an empty box and put it my pocket so I can have it on hand.
Thank You,
Tim

I was expecting a few days before I heard back from them. I was wrong, today at 11:45am I got an email back. Here is what it said.

Thanks for the e-mail; we apologize for the missing ammo. Where did you purchase this ammo? Also, can you supply us with your physical address, we will ship to you a box of the 50 rd AE9DP as soon as possible.

Thanks
Federal

Talk about speedy service and taking care of the customer. It's sucks that I got a bunch of boxes missing ammo. It's awesome that they made things right. I just thought I would share, Federal is a top notch company.

Same thing happened to me a while back with Winchester white box ammo. The styrofoam cartridge holder inside the box was deformed which must have prevented the ammo from loading it in in the factory. I, like you, e-mailed them and they called me in a few days. They ended up mailing me a $20 gift certificate for Winchester ammo. Unfortunately the certificate had an expiration date, and this was during the ammo scare and i couldn't find any Winchester ammo in a caliber I use in time :banghead:

im glad they are taking care of you & its good to see a company that stands by its products.

I had a round missing out of some winchester pdx. Noticed it in the parking lot when I started loading up. The gun shop was kind enough to give me the last round out their own personal stash.

Looks like some shady individuals pilfered a few rounds while nobody else was looking. That's probably why the missing rounds are always on one side, usually the left (that's the side I usually open, too--I must think like a criminal! :uhoh:;)). Crooks have to get their ammo from somewhere, and it's not like they're going to PAY for it! Oddly, it wouldn't have been that hard for them to have stuck one of those little 20-round PDX1 boxes into their pants. Maybe some of them do just that.

Where I bought the ammo they opened a new case while I was standing there. So it happened before it got to the store.
