Hello,

I'm looking to buy some 38 special bullets from Missouri Bullets and I seen on the website a few things i was not sure about...

For Cowboy Action Velocities
For PPC Velocity
For Target Velocities

Also, what is this Brinell 12 and Brinell 10?

Thanks.. Just want to make sure i order the correct bullet i want, but had them couple of questions.

Brinnel 10 is the softest. You will find these labeled PPC for PPC matches. Low, low, velocity. I believe they use a Brinnel 12 for cowboy, slightly faster, but still pretty slow. I have found that 12s work fine for any target velocity. I run the 10bhn in my 357 wadcutters, from Missouri Bullet. I also use the 12bhn in 45 colt loadings all the way to 900fps. I also use the 18bhn bullets from them for magnum velocity loads up to 1400fps.

What are you wanting to load, becomes the real question, because Missouri Bullet offers so many choices.

Sorry, I guess I forgot to add that, the Brinnel scale is a way of measuring the hardness of metal. In theory, the faster the velocity, the higher BHN you want, the slower, the lower BHN. There are lots of factors that come into play though. For examply, I shoot a 230gr LRN at 850fps that is BHN18, and get no leading. I also shoot a BHN 12 SWC at 900 and get no leading. Your powder, cartridge internal pressure, barrel rifling, cylinder gap, throat length and diameter can all affect your proper bullet.

In general though, base it off velocity and let proper load development take care of the rest.

This explains the BHN

If you tell us what type of load you want to make there are plenty of MissouriBullet customers here that can give you suggestions for a bullet along with the load they use. Cheap plinking, general use, cowboy, IDPA, etc etc etc.

Sure do thanks again!! I've placed an order yesterday for some bullets from your company :) hope to get them soon!!

Check your mailbox/porch - they may already be there... ;) Seriously, Brad sometimes ships them when he detects you thinking about ordering. Or so it would seem...:p

I think it won't be long before Brad offers automatic bullet shipping program like bottled water delivery (no need to fuss with reorders ... automatic monthly/quarterly/semi-annual shipment of bullets of your choice). :D

How about LeadBox - just drive to your local CVS/Rite Aid/Walgreens/Walmart, pick a Missouri bullet from the kiosk outside and swipe your credit card.

(Note: My idea. I need a cut of the massive future profits)
