I don't have any rifles but I don't plan to hunt with this, heck i might only shoot it once or twice, or if it's a good deal at $495 for everything buy 2 and keep one in the box for Antiques Roadshow, then use the other to shoot/hunt with. Good investment for Antiques Roadshow? Buy 1, 2? All I can get? I really have no idea, Mitchell Sales probably has literally 1 million of these things or something, at least a few hundred thousand.
Probably just going to buy one as collectors item and get a Savage for hunting boar and deer and other delicious animals. Acuu trigger looks nice on that.
www.mitchellsales.com so give me your opinion.
It seems like a good deal to me but I don't know what the going rate is.
Also as I have German ancestry (my branch left in 1800's) and a German last name I'm kinda wondering if friends who find out I have a world war 2 mauser rifle will look at me funny like i'm one of those people who is obsessed with the Nazi's or something. Then again the Yugoslavians did plan to use these to fight off the Nazi's again so at least I know these guns are "clean" conscience wise. What do you think?
