Mixing IMR4895 and H4895

No, you should not mix IMR 4895 with H4895. They are made on different
continents, have different granule size, different chemistry, different
burn speed and different data.. The two powders should not be mixed.

I know normally mixing powders is not condoned at all, however, with two
powders so closely related, would it be permissible to mix H4895 and

It's generally an April fools joke when someone posts the ultimate load using mixed powders. You did know they were going to tell you not to do it before you hit send, right?

It had nothing to do with "the ultimate load", duplex loads, or anything like that.

My original recomendation on the thread was to ask Hodgdon. Since the OP didn't, I did and said I would post the answer. I have.

I really don't give a rodent's behind about any of it.

My opinion still stands, I see no problem. On a daily basis we all ignore cautions and "do not do's" put forth by the mfg. Don't believe it? Look at the tobacco industry.

I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, just stating what I believe, you may believe whatever you wish. As I stated in the other thread, my ability to change your mind has as much chance as you changing mine.

Just the fact of the matter.

Thanks, very much, Gadzooks Mike, for the update. It is helpful and useful info from the manufacturer.

However, I think this one should be closed along with the previous thread before folks get in more trouble than they deserve.
