Recently my Lyman 2200 vibration tumbler took a dive. The motor was cooked and the lead counter weight flew off the shaft. Needless to say, I need a tumbler. I do not want another vibratory tumbler and I am looking to buy a rotary tumbler.

Anyway, I was surfing over on Fleabay and saw a MJR tumbler. There is a 15 pound model that is about the same size and cost as a Thumler's model B.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a MJR tumbler. They look to be a sturdy design from the pictures. I can not find any information on MJR tumblers after researching them on the net.

I have used a friends Thumlers before and it works well, I was just wondering maybe there is a better product out there. I am willing to pay for quality if it will last.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

If you are cheap, you could replace the vibe tumbler with a bathroom fan motor and a weight on the shaft to make it unbalanced and vibrate. I saw that the Frankfort Arsenal tumbler is open on the bottom and they stick a propeller on the shaft to circulate air in the motor compartment.

Oh well, just a thought.

You may want to check out the price for a new high speed 15# Thumblers Tumbler here: http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/4,4506.html

They are the cheapest I've found. I also ordered my SS media from here: http://www.pelletsllc.com/
They have great customer service and the media was at my door before I left my computer. (well it seemed like it). I don't remember the size you need for brass but if you talk to Kathy from pellets she will be able to help you.

Hope this helps,
Woody

Well, I am looking to getr away from the loud, annoying vibration tumblers. I am looking to replace the darn thing with a quality unit. But that is a good idea if you were looking to save $$..

Thumlers Model B it is

Well, I ordered the Thumlers model B from Buffaloarms.com It was my first order with them and their service was great so far. Thank for all the replies.

You won't be disappointed. Remember just a little soap goes a long way. On my first couple batches I got soap bubbles everywhere.

Pm me if you need suggestions on how to separate the SS media from the brass.

Keep your head low and your powder dry.
