Picked this one up this weekend in trade for some injector work. Planning on decking this one out with a trigger kit and better grips. Possibly a red dot. As of now this thing has one of the worst triggers I've ever experienced. My mkiv target is so much lighter. We'll see. Ordered some factory ruger finger groove grips tonight. 20230410_202623.jpg

Wish my MKII Government Slabside wasn’t stainless
The stainless version gives you a steel lower receiver (grip module) instead of aluminum. That's one advantage, at least.

ETA: I'm sorry. What I wrote applies to the Mark IV. On the Mark II, all the grip modules are steel.

I wish I could get paid like that for work performed. Nice piece and I’m sure you’ll soon make it even more useful. May it have many years in service to you.

Very nice and so easy to clean too!

I have a stainless Mk III.

Volquartsen has got great upgrades for the Mark series pistols.

Great looking blued Hunter, Jeff olson. The shorter bbl is nice, too.

Ruger is proud of their MKIVs. They are beautiful 22s but require an additional significant cost to get them to perform on a level commensurate with their looks. This is my biggest beef about them:

Im sure Volquartsen has a trigger solution. :D

Get the Volquartsen sear (they sell it separately) and a Mark II hammer, and ditch the magazine disconnect mechanism. That alone will take care of most of the trigger-pull problem.

Indeed!
I wish I could get paid like that for work performed.

Nice!

Yes, the Volquartsen trigger job makes the Mk IV into an amazing pistol. Mine has a sub-2lb trigger pull with zero overtravel that is about as nice as one can get.

Best part of the Mk IV is versatility. It started with a 10” upper, then added two 5.5” uppers that I bought from Volquartsen for cheap. One 5.5” wears a dot, the other stayed stock. :)

Stay safe.
