It pains me to report the passing of Joel Rosenberg.
Ed Morrissey, a blogging colleague of my wife, has posted this announcement:

You have got this all wrong about the man. ALL WRONG! Before you beatify the man. perhaps you ought look into the history.....much recent and other issues long standing.
#1 Harrasing other local instructors via Text, Email, and showing up uninvited at classes. Putting up web sites to mock other instructors.
#2 Not adhering to his own class materials by DON'T BECOME A TEST CASE
#3 Failure to follow the advice of his "friend" and attorney then loosing his paid legal representation because he was not using funds raised for his defense, but rather live life large......
#4 Filing frivolous law suits then offering to settle for cash settlement, where I come from that is extortion. Just cause they posted an opinion contrary to his.
#5 Alienating just about every "friend" he had................
#6 Taking down his forum was tantamont he could not play well with others.
Obviously, he did not take the High Road in how he treated others......just saying so that there is balance......

Honoring the man's contributions isn't beatification, but we do all have to remember that every advocate for RKBA is merely human and likely to have flaws and faults and we shouldn't be surprised when they're pointed out.
I did not know him personaly, but know of some of his work to make Minnesota a shall issue state. That alone doesn't make him a saint or a great guy, but you can't take that away from him either.
If he was an SOB in some ones opinion, they might, & are welcome, to rejoice he's gone.
I am left thinkiing there is a hole in the RTKBA movement and at his passing I know of nothing bad to say regarding him. So - I will bid him fairwell with a thanks for the good I know he done.
