Model 36 Q

Okay guys and gals a quick j frame question. My buddys getting rid of his model 36 no dash. Its a two inch square butt, blued with a flat latch wearing diamonds with worn checkering and no cracking. Blue box numbered (written on the bottom not the side label) to the gun. Serial number 1876XX strong bored with about 75% finish. Ex police gun not department marked. Any ball parks on price, nothing special minus the flat latch and diamonds right? Thanks for the help. - MAC

A well used 36 would run from $225 to $400, I got my 36 3" tapered barrel with a round butt for under $300.

Around here, $300-$340 for a late-1950's M36 in the condition you described.

Square butt model 36's are a part of history; as they are no longer being
offered from the factory. Flat latch weapons carry a slight premium as
well; so I would venture out, and say $250 would not be a bad price~!
