Model 39 serial No. # date

As I stated in my other post in another section since I am very new at this web site. I am searching for a serial number date of manufacture. I have aMarlin model 39 (not A), with a serial number of S117XX. It has an octagon barrel, it fires and ejects as it suppose to and is in relatively great shape minus some minor missing parts.
I am trying to discover the date of manufacture. I purchased it at an auction with hundreds of guns locally. So that being said, I am new, I need someone with greater knowledge to please help me date it. The last site I saw, said it was dated 1886 which I am sure. Please help me. I am also seeking minor parts for this also, but that is for later.

Can't be 1886 the Marlin 22 lever action debuted in 1891.

The Model 39 in was introduced in 1922, the S prefix in 1926, which changed to HS in 32 or so. The 39A was introduced in, yes 1939.

So yours was made sometime between 1926 and 1932.
