Need to know if anyone has or knows some one who has parts for the Stevens-Browning 620. Blew the firing pin spring at trap last Monday. The local gunsmiths near Oshkosh, Wi don't even want to touch it. I would appreciate any help in this matter.

I don't recall there being a spring loaded firing pin on the 620 ? Could you clarify the problem ?

O K, You made me look. Is there a possibility of finding a replacement hammer? The firing pin is only dimpling the primer.

The 620 uses an off-set flat firing pin that is prone to breaking at the point of the off-set. This is likely your problem but hard to tell for sure until you take it apart. I doubt wether the hammer is the problem, but ?

Brownell's at least used to carry the firing pins (newly made replacements) and you can check there on their web site. Other parts may be available from guns parts corp (Numrich Arms). I can't imagine why any gunsmith worth spit wouldn't take care of it for you. The model 520 and 620 are about the same and the FP should interchange. The 520 was the earlier version with the hump back receiver. These are J. Browning designed take down guns and generaly give good service - worth fixing unless major problems.

Thanks for your answer. I did take it apart and found the firing pin intact.
However, the hammer does look worn at the point of impact. The firing pin extends 1/8th inch from the bolt face, so that most likely isn't the problem.
When picking up my casings after the the gun misfired, I noticed that one of the primers had blown through. That might have led to the problem. Again, I thank you for your quick response.
