I've been wondering if anyone has picked up one of the newer American Branded Turkish Shotguns...and what they thought of them.

I picked up a Savage/Steves 512 Model Gold Wing....Gotta tell ya, I'm impressed with the quality of the gun. The fit and finish is well done and the furniture is very nice....The gun itself costs half the price I would expect in a quality shotgun...:)

if you mean Hatsan arms (turkish shotguns)

i bought a synthetic pump and it's @ the dealers being repaired under 3 year waranty less than 1 year old.

Think i've been unlucky as loads of people i know own guns made by them and have no problems.
Nice gun go for it.

i dont have a turkish shotgun but i own a turkish air gun, it is the hatsan at 44 it feels and looks great and it wasnt to expensive either.

A friend of mine has a Yildiz over and under 20 gauge. I've shot it. It handles fine, points naturally, and is reliable. I suspect it won't stand up to 20,000 rounds a year for very long, but he's fine with that.

Do a search for Huglu who makes the CZ shotguns or Kahn who makes the Mossberg Silver Reserve.

I'm about *this close* to jumping on the "Stevens" Gold Wing 512 in 28 ga. Seems to be of good quality. Which plant are these made at?

I have a Huglu (CZ) and it's most excellent.

I guess these Turkish guns aren't known for lasting thousands of rounds, but for the occasional upland bird hunter, they'll last a lifetime or two.

or Kahn who makes the Mossberg Silver Reserve.

From what I've read from the guys who have bought the "Mossberg" Silver Reserve, they usually end up adopting this attitude about the manufacturer:

I have shotguns in the price range that I would never mention around my wife as it would put my life in extreme danger. I also have a Turkish (DeHaan S2 28ga SxS) that is just one of the sweetest quail guns that a man could ask for. It is now at approx. 2 1/2K of shells thru it and never a burble. It does not get the use that my Beretta DT10 L does for sporting clays then again that is not why I got her! The S2 is 6# and the DT10L is 9#. Guess which one I'm carrying on a day long quail hunt at 68 yrs. young!

Torun/Hatfield in Turkey makes this gun with the latest CNC high tech machinery. It is not a B gun or a K gun but it will outlast you if you are an average shooter.
