6'2" blond with a PhD, loves to shoot, is really good at it...
I can learn Russian if she likes 6'2" blond fat college students who shoot below average and don't want any schooling beyond a BS...

The only thing to do in a situation like that is...be a GOOD student! Watch, listen, and learn. Those chances don't come by very often. :D

Mark.

Ha ha ha.... Yes, she is an amazing shot and we had a good time at the range. The AR pic, she just popped in a mag and getting ready to shoot.

Would be nice if she could stay longer, but wants to go to other places in America. She said she will return next August. Well, actually..... We were all talking about going to mexico next August. We'll see, although there won't be any shooting in Mexico.

I did pick up some tips though, as did my daughter. I'm trying to find the MP5 pick of her. I know there is one, at least I think there is.

I honestly love the russians, tough people

They are an incredibly resilient, adaptive and passionate people. I am grateful we never went to war with them.

Female sharpshooters are a Russian tradion as well. Some of their most effective snipers during WWII were women.

I guess a 12 time Russian national champ can give my kiddo a few pointers, right?

...and everyone else who isn't a champion shooter. Take advantage of that for yourself, as well as for your daughter. Further, showing your daughter that even Daddy can take advice from someone that REALLY, REALLY knows what they're doing is a good lesson for her to take through life. Nobody has a monopoly on knowledge, skills or talent, and life is (among other things) a constant learning process (which turns into a teaching process once you've learned enough).

Where was she in '77 when I needed her? ;)

Oh right, in '77 she was just a . . . target. . . .

I am OH SO HAPPY that World War Three ended back in '90! :D

I am OH SO HAPPY that World War Three ended back in '90!

Here's to Ronald Reagan, may he rest in peace. We had Soviet army troops visit Florennes during the INF Treaty verfication and one of them confirmed what we had thought all along. They were "extremely concerned" about our Ground Launched Cruise Missiles. Thank the Lord we won that one without goin' head to head with those guys. It would have been very ugly.

I'm not so proud that I won't take advice. Heck, I'll take advice from anyone that can shoot well! And this lady can shoot WELL!

I've been trying the stance that she showed, and pushed, twisted, pulled me into (which was kinda fun in itself). I just don't feel right, been shooting in one stance for so many years and now an uncomfortable change. If I can raise my 90's and 95's to 100's, it's worth it, right?

Here's a kicker though. My daughter is really a little small to shoot her 10/22 without a rest. When using Ella's stance, she can shoulder it without a rest. Don't get me wrong, the rifle is still a little heavy for her. She is still not steady enough to feel comfortable, but can shoot it without a rest. So Ella, if you found this site and someone is translating this for you, thank you.

Ok, another fun pic. As I said, 6'2", blonde and blue.... Shooting a full auto suppressed MP5. Can't help but just stare at this one. Notice the hand on the mag???? Not stabbing a mag in this one. Left elbow dug in for support.

JR,

You can see her training. That's a stance used for long range shooting. It is kinda weird to see it employed on an short range MP5.

No ears? Do I see a hint of earplugs? Hard to tell.

Great story.

I use that kind of stance in almost all of my longarms shooting, but with at least a hasty sling. Is there a reason she isn't using the sling? Someone edumicate me. Does the mag interfere with the sling (or vice-versa) or something on that particular weapon?

Looks like a normal free rifle/standing position stance to me except she has to hold the mag as there isn't a flat spot for where herweak hand would normally be(and the height of the sights are a little off for her).

Well, I used that stance in hi-power offhand (standing) position, but man, if there was a sling, I would use it, fer sure, disunirregardless of the position, even with adjustable palm rest.

And. No ears?

What gives?

When shooting the MP5... She did have the squishies in her ears. And, it is suppressed. The ammo was subsonic so it did not really make any loud crack. The particular sling on the MP5 is a 3 point and not really good for a hasty hold. That is a SWAT weapon and not used for long range shooting, only used for close quarters. Same with my AR, three point sling, and did not work very well due to slack.

She still outshot everyone. Guess she has something going with that stance and her disipline, as we do not use and are not trained with that stance. Congrats to her, never shot the weapon until this time, and still outshot everyone. Amazing woman, just amazing.

OK thanks. I just haven't had much experience with "modern" shooting techniques and equipment.

weellll

if she gets tired of russian men(i do hear they're quite chauvenistic)theres an american in missouri who will spoil her rotten, even to the point of letting her eat crackers in his bed.
