Quick and easy one here...

I'm considering buying either a Remington 700 BDL or a CDL in 30-06. I like the BDL because I like the Monte Carlo stock. I seem to be able to bring the rifle scope up to my eye more easily without dropping my head as far down or pull my elbow as high up as the standard straight American stock. However, I'm a bit unsure of the iron sights. They appear to be a bit high. Here are my questions:

1. What are the pros & cons of both the Monte Carlo and straight American stocks?

2. Will the iron sights of the BDL require that I get higher rings than normal for a 44 mm scope on a CDL?

3. Is there anything else to consider between the two guns (BDL and CDL)?

Thanks,

1- some consider the monte carlo stock to be more comfortable to shoot... i know of nobody, however, that prefers the look of a monte carlo.

2- pull the irons, put plug screws in, and the answer is no. if you insist on keeping the irons, the answer is probably not, but check rear sight clearance to be sure.

3- no, really there isn't.
