Howdy,

Gonna be traveling to Montgomery for work a few times this month, won't have a ton of time but was wondering if there are any local shops worth checking out.

The CMP's south store is not that far away (it's at Anniston) if you have any interest in Garands, etc. Go here to learn more about it...

Check out Walter Craigs Sportsman HQ, east side of bypass. You can google it for directions. Not bad at times.

The best small shop closed a couple of years ago, Mulberry Pawn. Walter Craig is pretty good, normal prices a little high and sale price pretty good.
Go see Jimbo at Patriot Gun Sales on HWY 231 North, it's my preferred shop. It's a small shop, just Jimbo and his dad, but they are good people and prices are not bad. They have from tactical to old, even had a 6" Colt TrooperIII yesterday.
The Gun Shoppe on Bell Road is ok, another small shop.
If your in the Auburn area, check out Story's and The Firing Pin. The Firing Pin is newer and mostly tactical stuff, but one of the only places that has AR parts.
Story's is very unique. It's an old store that has guns,gun parts,boots,fishing,groceries and much more. When I'm looking for that hard to find part, it's usually there with a top coat of dust.
