A couple weeks ago, I was FL sizing 6.5x55 cases with my RCBS die I have had for several years. I was lazy and decided to use some Hornady "One-Shot" case lube instead of my usual Redding Sizing Wax. :banghead: (I like to use the "One-Shot" on .38 Special cases as my old die is not carbide.)
Suddenly, I noticed some severe scratches at the bottom 1/4 of the case. I ceased what I was doing and checked all the cases I had sized. Out of 60 cases, I had scratches in 20 or so with the scratches getting worse as I had progressed.

I removed the die and checked it with a flashlight and I could see brass stuck to the inner surface of the die. I pulled the decapping rod out, packed it up and sent it off to RCBS with a brief note and one of the scratched cases.

About three weeks later I got the die back in a new RCBS die box and with new decapping rod, pin and neck expander button. The work order said the die had been polished. No charge.

I have since used it and it has been perfectly trouble free.

Thank you RCBS! ;)

RCBS is a wonderful company to deal with.

We're lucky in the reloading hobby, we have very good vendors available to us. And the warranties are solid.
