More unbiased, intelligent journalism from our dear friends at the Boston Globe:

Live free and die
By Steve Bailey, Globe Columnist | November 30, 2005

WEST LEBANON, N.H. -- In the manic environment of the first shopping weekend after Thanksgiving, the competition was fierce. We hesitated and lost out on a lovely, slightly used grenade launcher, bargain priced in tax-free New Hampshire at $190.

Not to worry. The dozens of dealers at the Fireside Inn gun show came well armed. Andrew Heggie, a Randolph police officer, spotted a Bushmaster, similar to the rifle he carried in two tours of duty in Afghanistan. And he found an AK-47, the same gun the enemy carried. There were military sniper rifles and an M-16-type ''machine pistol" capable of firing off 100 rounds before reloading -- the kind of gun only an angry high school student could love. Saturday night specials were cheap and plentiful.

Complete hogwash. If someone bought that 'grenade launcher' for $190 taxfree they are facing 10 years in federal prison and $10,000 fine for breaking the National Firearms Act plus possibly more years for tax evasion.

Maybe it's far past time we pushed for Federal Journalism Licenses subject to the Bureau of Truth, Media, and Journalism for those BS peddlers.

If it's fair game for the 2nd Amendment it should be for the 1st as well.

You'd think New Hampshire would be a bloodbath, but for some reason, it isn't. Why don't they use some of their amazing journalism powers and investigate that?

I never let a chance to rip on Camelot...

Massachusetts is an abomination to all those who fought and died for Freedom. The Massachusetts laws, and their selective enforcement by the police, have created a monarchy in our midst. I would love to see a motion in Congress to expel Massachusetts from the union.

Dear Mr. Bailey:

Do you have any writing or journalism credential? Just curious.

Your article smells of someone knowing absolutely nothing about that which you write and someone making the liberal case despite lack of facts; firearms in this case. A few examples:

"...an M-16-type ''machine pistol" capable of firing off 100 rounds before reloading -- the kind of gun only an angry high school student could love..." Did your editor write that? I suggest you investigate what a M-16 is and what it is not. You have it all wrong.

"Dramatically reducing the flow of illegal guns would be a relatively straightforward matter if it were not for the lunatic gun lobby and its political enablers." Did you ever read the Bill of Rights, 2nd Amendment? Not assigned by your leftist college professor I trust!

"...Thirty thousand people a year -- 82 a day -- are killed by guns every year in this country..." So I trust you'll be writing a follow-up article on the number of Americans killed by automobiles?

"And there are four more New Hampshire shows before spring ends. Children under 12 are admitted free." Tell us the truth: Your leftist liberal editor threw that last jab in? Let us know. In any event, automobiles are also sold at shows... suggest you do a follow-up piece on those: the most deadly weapon known to man!

You get a liberal star for this crap from the Boston Globe I suppose... go ahead and put in for one!

Regards,

Historically, the Boston Globe bloody well HATES New Hampshire. We are everything that they (Globe staff and Massachusetts in general) are not and they've never forgiven us for that.

And, as we read this, African-American 17-year-olds in Boston are being shot to death, children at recess have to duck gunfire, and the powers-that-be seem to do nothing but wring their hands and complain about New Hampshire.

Hint: Find the bad guys in your own state, arrest them, put them in jail and things might, just might, improve.

Or is that too easy?

sigh....

Wrote a friendly letter to the author, pointing out that most of what he thinks he saw is actually restricted by the NFA.

He probably saw a fake M203, a few AR-15's, and some WASR's and thought he was looking at an M203, M16's, and AK-47's. It also sounds like the officer he was with was spoon-feeding him a load of crap.

So, the problem is as I understand it is that people in New Hampshire are shooting into Boston causing crime, right?

I get to Boston a couple of times a year. Last year I just happened to be sitting in an adult entertainment center drinking a barley pop and struck up a conversation with a state prosecutor. Since I was in the same bidness, other side of the street, I asked about the going rates for different crimes. I was shocked and amazed to say the least.:uhoh:

Locking up the truly bad guys works. Warehousing? Yes, sometimes you have to as the alternative is much worse.

Did you ever read the Bill of Rights, 2nd Amendment? Not assigned by your leftist college professor I trust!

Since when has the 2nd Amendment blocked gun control legislation? Care to name any federal laws overturned on 2nd Amendment grounds?

Take your time.

I would love to see a motion in Congress to expel Massachusetts from the union.

Um, could we amend that to just expel the liberals who have ruined this state? There are quite a few of us who support the Second Amendment and do in fact legally and safely own firearms. It's an uphill battle here, but someone has to do it.
