I took my Armi Sport 1858 2-band Enfield to the range this morning.

Shot about 20 shots -- all off-hand from 25 yards.

I used 50 grains of Goex FFG followed by a paper wad, then a Prichett bullet coated with Rooster Jacket and lubed in the base with Navy Arms shotgun sealer.

I also shot a couple of shots with a Dixie minie ball coated on the grooves with 40 grains of FFG with good results.

Here is one of my targets:

Good lookin' replica of an antique cordless boring appppperatus ya gots there !!

That gun sure is a looker and you splattered up that target pretty good too! :)

Is the rifle capable of shooting patched round balls with similar accuracy at that range? Have you tried to shoot any PRB's with it yet?

Patched round ball in my Enfield

articap:

I have only shot a couple of PRBs out of the Enfield -- out of the hundreds of rounds I have put through her.

Accuracy was a little off, but I really have not experimented with patch thickness, loads, etc.

She shoots conicals pretty good, though!
